I know, I know, LFWend isn’t quite the same as LFW itself. However, my partner and I were in Iceland the past week so I was unable to attend any of the shows so to make myself feel better, I attended the LFWend shows to ensure I’m up to date on this seasons upcoming trends! We arrived back into London at 3pm so had a chaotic rush to make our 5pm show. We were lucky enough to be gifted Silver package tickets, giving us access to the designer sales, a trend catwalk show, designer tote bag (designed by Preen by Thornton Bregazzi) filled with goodies and access to the Luxe Lounge.
The show was presented by Laura Jackson, who is carving her way to presenting stardom! This seasons must-have trends include Beautiful Botanicals, where we see florals for spring (groundbreaking) but with a modern update in the form of graphic and oversized floral prints on outerwear and accessories; Americana, bold star and stripe motifs with collegiate jackets and tailored blouses; Pop Art Brights, giving us bold head-to-toe colour blocking; and finally New Romance, embracing the inner romantic with delicate feminine looks (think lace, ruffles and silk in the palest of shades).
My favourite designer from the catwalks this season was Emilia Wickstead, she’s a fresh new face on the fashion scene recently moving her studio from Belgravia to West London (just 3 weeks before fashion week)! Her motif for her brand at LFWend was “give them what they never knew they wanted”, and she is doing JUST that! Check out her minimalistic, neutral toned designs here.
So, a little bit about my outfit, I’m recently into shirts with popped collars underneath a high necked jumper. I’m featuring my favourite shirt (which I’ve gushed about before) from American Apparel, underneath my go-to, most worn jumper ever, in 100% cashmere from Mandkhai Ltd. I’m also really loving this silhouette of oversized shirts/jumpers on top with slouchy trousers and with a touch of tailoring in the bag and jacket. I’m also wearing the perfect leather jacket by Topman, paired with the best fitting trousers I’ve ever owned by Whistles! My bag is from Céline and the shoes are from Adidas.
I got chatting with a skincare expert while we were in Iceland and realised I’m not treating my skin correctly for my skin type. She also taught me some common mistakes and assumptions people make so stay tuned for a educational skincare post! Also check back next week to see a few best picks from our hundreds of snaps from Iceland, for a few sneak peeks make sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitter (click the link) or stay up to date with me via Snapchat (Mitchwebb25). Please feel free to let me know your thoughts on my outfit, the fashion week shows and your favourite new designer in the comments below!
