I can’t be the only fashion enthusiast for whom Summer is usually followed by a huge question mark (commonly hanging in between the swim shorts and sweaters), causing an on-set of incandescent 5am-Incognito-online-shopping, which results in unsatisfactory and ill-fitting items that are almost translucent (wait, isn’t that the natural progression from our normal attire?).
As an inherent sun-seeker; who will unquestionably throw myself onto the nearest bench as soon as the clouds break; summer has always been a topic, and season, of interest. Sure, I love a good winter coat and cashmere sweater just as much as the next guy, but summer is where. It’s. At. It’s carefree and easy, the little black dress of seasons, if you will.
Lately, however, I’ve been growing perturbed in the lack of presence of that shiny golden ball in the sky (does anyone remember his name?). Just keeping up with the endless trawl through rain, shine, cloud, more cloud, little more rain, is exhausting. So as you can imagine, I’m gleeful at the slow but progressive increase in sightings of the little guy. Although, this carefree nature I described isn’t purely by chance, (one could only hope for such luck). As we battle our way to the sunshine, Mr. Porter is a crucial cog in this system. Essentially making me opulently more blithe by providing a theoretical ‘how-to’ in dressing for this indecisive period (so I can continue being perpetually lazy, which is always the goal).
Staring square eyed at the glowing rectangle of my macbook screen, Mr. P takes control. He conceptually leads your hand, gently encourages the clickstream and brings you to the bible, I mean webpage, Summer Shop. Putting together a beautifully basic curation of essentials all in one place is the stuff my dreams are made of. Here are a few of my must-haves which you just must-have this summer.
