Something I’ve come to realise this festive season, (is there any better period for realisation?) (Completely rhetoric and totally sarcastic question by the way), is that the men in my life are actually the hardest to buy for. The only reason I feel this subject is even worth discussing is that I think I speak for wider society when I say that we’re usually led to equate women to being the habitually picky, indecisive or fussy ones when it comes to gifting. Not only is it just plain unfair, but apparently entirely false. What proof do I have, I hear you typing in the comments? The fact that I have resigned to hourly Googling of ‘Christmas Gift Guide For Men’ is statistically soundproof enough for me (hopes of new articles are what keep me going). Another man-characteristic that helps to only advance the stress of buying for said man, is the reality that we pretty much buy the things we want for ourselves. Instead of banking the desire for that watch until Christmas, knowing full well it would be a good opportunity for someone to be relieved of the gift-giving stress by being handed an idea, we just go ahead and buy the damn thing anyway.
One strategic step I’ve taken in an attempt to tackle this crippling realisation, is surrendering myself to be guided by those said ‘gift guides’. The joy of Christmas is, of course, joyous, but it’s also a little exhausting when you’re constantly tied down by the worry of gift giving (especially gift giving to all these fussy men). Jack Wills are on mittened-hand with stocking fillers, gift sets, and premium pieces, making it seem like a breeze this Christmas. They have covered all bases and give ideas from the ‘please-all’s’ like a good ol’ gift card through to clothes, accessories, grooming items and even tree decorations. Whether you’re buying for your biggest bro-mance, a fr-olleague, your brother or a cherished son-in-law – they’ve got you covered.
