It’s my favourite time of year, London fashion week! So this weeks post was inspired by an evolving trend my fashion senses picked up for the season (albeit late), two coats. We’ve seen big names like Margaret Zhang rocking the two coat trend with a classic leather jacket underneath a khaki trench coat. This sparked a fire in me and I have to say, I LOVED it! So this week I thought I’d try out this new trend but with a twist, two jackets instead of two coats.
My photographer and I have developed quite a refined skill at literally falling upon our locations (yep, none of these are planned). So between shows, we took a trip to Spitafields Market for lunch after a long morning at LFW and while peeping down side streets found this super tall, white wall with a ‘prop’ door like some kind of movie set!
So, to the outfit, I wasn’t sure how to make the ‘two jackets’ work. I tried out dozens of my jackets in combinations over each other, but then settled on this combo. I’m wearing my go-to white tee from Weekday, its a really good fit and slightly longer in the body giving a modern touch. This blazer is actually from Topshop and is a great boxy shape with square pockets making it very versatile and wearable with just about anything! It worked well under my Topman leather biker jacket as its slightly longer in length giving a multi-dimensional and textured look.
The star of the show is these straight leg trousers from Whistles, they’re a really nice wicker-type fabric that do not crease (my dream) and are super comfy. The shoes are my favourite go-to Adidas classics, enough said! We’re off to Iceland next week and I cannot wait! Even though I’m sad I will miss most of the London Fashion Week shows, stay tuned for some (or should I say, tonnes of) amazing pics from there! Keep up to date with me on Instagram and Twitter (linked) or via Snapchat (mitchwebb25). Let me know your thoughts on the two coat trend and this outfit in particular by leaving a comment below!
